For our third and final; instalment of Dungeon Synth Sunday, we almost pick up where we left off from the Temple album, travelling further out into space with the new album of sci-fi kosmiche, from Delmak-O.
Out, out, towards the darkest, coldest recesses, as the fanciful psychedelia fades, and harsh realities encroach. Earth and a previous life fades to memory more thoroughly with each passing day. Humanity searches through space for hope. One of the party maintains a travel log.
Entry 098: After years of searching, we have found something that seems to be similar enough to the way the Dust used to be. It has been so long so it's hard to know what we're looking for. However, we know the most important factors: we need to find something that has water, an atmosphere with oxygen, and a sun, obviously similar enough in proximity to be inhabitable to life. This planet, Cerulean 02 as we have called it, checks every box. Its size is different than the Dust--it's a bit smaller. So it's hard to know exactly how different it will be. At this point, I think it's worth the risk. We cannot survive here too much longer.
The story that accompanies the cinematic audio narrative of this album works perfectly. Exploratory, conveying the cold harshness of space whilst reflecting the emotions of the journeying people, and telling of their fate.
