Hannah and Dorothy Williams, a singing and dancing sister act began their vaudeville career in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1918 when they were 8 and 10 years old. They reached fame when they performed in the George White Scandals of 1924 on Broadway. They also performed their act with the Scranton Sirens Orchestra and with the Charley Straight Rendezvous Cafe Orchestra and the Ben Pollack Orchestra in Chicago. They were known as the hippest sister act in vaudeville and cabaret. In 1930 Hannah Williams achieved feature billing, along with Fanny Brice and George Jessel in the Broadway review \"Sweet and Low.\" In 1931, Hannah was briefly married to band leader Roger Wolfe Kahn and then married heavyweight boxer Jack Dempsey in 1933. Dorothy Williams was briefly married to jazz cornetist, Jimmy McPartland.
