Roy Leslie - Dick Turpin's Ride To York Parts One & Two (Eclipse, 1932)

Playing Next: I Told The Storm - Greg O'Quin 'N Joyful Noize
Random Page  /  Random Song

Eclipse No. 222, 1932. So I've just been re-posting some fixed videos. And I've got some footage shot in York on Sunday lying about. And I've already posted a song about Dick Turpin's journey to York but it had no visuals... What to do, what to do...? So anyway, this may be the last of the re-posts for a while; I'll try to post something new soon. And at least with this one the visuals are new. Here's what I said about the song last time... Jacks Payne and Hylton released versions of this around May 1932, so I guess this version on the Woolworths cheapo Eclipse label was around the same time. And it has a similar feel to the Riddles song I posted by the Blue Lyres, which was also from around the same time. Although these 8\" Eclipse discs have a reputation for good surfaces, most of the ones I come across are knackered. But despite being almost cracked right through, this one plays pretty well.
