Hello everyone and thank you for watching our official video for our original piece, Ballad of the Crow!
This piece was born when Ele composed the intro with her guitar, thinking of proposing a metal power ballad. When we started playing it together something clicked, and we continued the composition together with the desire to experiment. We asked ourselves: what if it had something of a new age, in which classical, metal, and electronic music combine to give life to something new?
We liked that this piece had a character as much dance as it was sinister. After the first refrain, we imagined a fully-fledged dance duet. Ele wanted to express her two favourite sides of playing the guitar: sweet and graceful but also rough and grim. We visualised this idea with a crow who has the grace and lightness of a bird but who dances in the heaviness of its sorrows. The violin both caresses and teases him at the same time.
The cherry on the cake of this composition was the composition of the bridge, to which we wanted to give a rather sinister edge.
We composed this tune for 4 hands and are very fond of it: tell us what your impressions are!
The falcon in the video is a gyrfalcon. Its appearance in this video was made in full respect of the rights and protection of animals.
