''The Hippie Revolt, inspired by the documentary of the same name along with the plethora of underground cult cinema of the 1960's and early 1970's, is a musical project helmed by Matt Schmitz of the doom/psych band Sleestak. Taking totally far out samples from these films about drugs and the occult, he injects them into a set of mostly instrumental songs ranging in sound from the psychedelic Haight Ashbury love-in scene to the downtuned sludge of early proto and prog metal.''
