\"Lotta Love\" is a Neil Young cover by American pop singer Nicolette Larson in 1978 that reached the #8 spot on both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Cash Box Top 100 charts. Her version features a string arrangement plus a classic soft rock horn riff, and a flute solo that rendered it a hit #1 on the Easy Listening chart. Earlier, Larson accrued credit on soft rock, pop, pop rock, country, country rock, folk, folk rock recordings by major artists such as Neil Young, the Doobie Brothers, and Emmylou Harris. The transition from backing vocalist to lead singer is not always an easy one, but she did it. In the later part of the 1980's, she made a successful switch to country music which had always been inherent in her singing style. The Montana-born Larson released six albums and won several awards, including best new vocalist from the Academy of Country Music in 1984. Nicolette died at the age of 45 due to health complications.
