My Extraordinary Gal, Fox Trot (Terry Shand) - Gene Kardos & HIs Orchestra, Vocal Chorus by Dick Robertson, Victor 1932

NOTE: Gene Kardos (1899-1980) American bandleader who in years 1931-38 led his popular dance orchestra. Gene Kardos' orchestra made its first appearance on records in 1931 (Victor) and thereafter recorded also for Perfect, Melotone, Banner, Oriole, Romeo, Vocalion. Among his musicians were Mike Doty (clarinet, sax) and Joel Shaw (piano). Some of Kardos' recordings were issued on Crown under Shaw's name and some on Bluebird under Doty's name. Many of Kardos' earlier records are prized by 'hot' dance arrangements, yet from the mid-1930s the orchestra's sound changed more to a hotel dance band style. Dick Robertson - a very good singer and later, also leader of his own band - was the vocalist on many of Gene Kardos recordings.
