The concept of Iceface Tuning is to tune every sharp and flat note (in each key) 50 cents higher. These highered notes are now quarter tones called \"ice notes\" in Iceface Tuning.
You can use these ice notes mainly as passing notes and grace notes to give detune and doubling-like effects to specific notes of the melody and chord tones in the composition/performance.
I'd always imagined that ice is melting when I play quarter tones on the piano. So I call it \"ice note effect\".

Unlike the standard Iceface Tuning, I played this piece as if its bass note is B (-50cents) and made the tonic chord with D and F. (B-50cents + D + F) That makes peculiar moods I like.
At that time I wasn't sure but later I was told that this scale, if it's without ice notes are similar to Maqam Iraq. So now I call it Iceface Mamaq Iraq.
In (Maqam Iraq with5 ice notes), E and B are 50 cents down (approximately, like Rast C and Maqam Iraq) and E♭ and B ♭ are remained the same as in 12 Equal Temperament. Other white (diatonic) keys are also the same as in Equal Temperament. D♭, G♭, A♭ are 50cents up to give ice note effects.

In 2014 I brought my new concept (50cents higher black keys style) and started to promote it as Iceface Tuning / Iceface Tuned Piano on YouTube.
It’s a very twisted story but that pre-Iceface ( or Iceface 0.1, Ice bookshop scale. ) is back as Iceface Maqams now.
Well, I wrote too much about my theory but you can forget them and just enjoy this music and video.
