Shogun‘s self-titled record delivers nothing more than an assortment of melodious hard rock, coupled with one of the greatest singers within the NWOBHM scene, Alan Marsh (of Tokyo Blade fame).Shogun's music is melodic, but not overly so, and they rock pretty hard, but aren't firmly a metal band. They're probably closer to Tokyo Blade, Tygers of Pan Tang and maybe Y&T than anything else. The album is worth owning if you're into this kind of music. NWOBHM die-hards is particular ought to track this one down.
