Sydney Joe Qualls is a Southern born soul singer who was heavily influenced by Al Green and Sam Dees but had a sound and quality of his own. He signed to Dakar Records to release his debut album with a variation on the spelling of his first name. So Sexy is one of the great soul albums released in 1978 on Chi-Sound recordings, where he masterfully sings 8 soul numbers including the cult classic I Don’t Do This.
