Jason and Kelly who already played together in their former band 'Paradox' moved together to Scotsdale, Arizona. The guitarists Mark Vasquez and Kevin Horton joined the band which is soon called 'Dogz'. Jason played bass and often did the vocals on various gigs and some recorded demos. Kevin was soon replaced by Ed Carlson. In 1983 vocalist Erik A.K. joined the 'Dogz' and shortly after it, they changed the name to 'Flotsam & Jetsam'.
