After two new EPs released last year on Pont Neuf Records and Jimpster’s label Delusions of Grandeur, both supported by many producers such as Joe Goddard (Hot Chip), Horse Meat Disco or Adryiano, Cosmonection is back on Pont Neuf with a new EP Odyssey. This new maxi from the Parisian producer presents an ever more mature sound universe by confirming its attachment to a deep house sound with many Balearic euphoria influences and a more retro-futuristic approach, synthesized with hushed melodies and warm afro rhythms.
It all starts with \"Midnight\", a deliciously dreamy, mesmerizing hypnotic and spacy introduction, featuring the sweet and light voice of the Russian Brazilian singer Gystere. \"Odyssey\" leads us to the heat with a multi-phase and resolutely headlining track, driven by the 909’s groovy rhythm and a series of synthesizers creating an irresistible tension. The second part of the maxi opens with \"Lost Islands\", a true Balearic and warm escape with bouncy bass and piano chords that leave no other choice than dancing to its listener. Then comes \"Feelings\", with a deeper and more efficient deep house atmosphere via a dubby approach where the pads merge beautifully with the clattering percussion of the track. Finally, \"Solstice\" presents another collaboration, this time with Tour-Maubourg where the universes of the two producers combine together, with an ambitious mix of genres where Cosmonection’s spacy and groovy touch meets the melancholic jazzy-house sound from the other promising producer of the new French house scene.
