Pandaemonium were founded in 1995, from the ashes of the thrash band Mad Faith. Of the previous line-up only the singer Daniel Reda (once called \"Darkness\") remains today. The main reason for the new name is a radical change in the sound of the band, which evolved from the thrash metal of the beginnings to a new melodic power metal rhythm inspired by northern mythology and fantasy literature best sellers.



The line-up, which was completed in July '98 on the occasion of the recording of its first album \"...and the Runes begin to Pray\" at Zenith Studios in Lucca, saw several musicians and their different musical tastes and influences come and go. The rhythm session featured a great number of bassists and drummers (among them the drummer of the Italian band Labyrinth, Matt Stancioiu) until the choice ultimately fell upon Lorenzo Zirilli at the bass and Simone Barbieri (coming from the Prog-Metal scene) behind the drums.
