Many of my covers are products of songs getting stuck in my head or a desire to play a melody or riff on guitar. However it's pretty rare that I know how the cover is going to sound before laying down tracks. For this cover, I knew exactly how I wanted it to sound. I remember being at an airport and hearing this rhythm riff in my head as I was waiting for an Uber, and I thought, 'well this could really work as a rhythm guitar for a simple and soaring melody'. Having played through the Final Fantasy X HD Remaster, this time around Servants of the Mountain hit me the hardest in the whole soundtrack and it was PERFECT for the riff. In a weird way, this was one of the easier covers to arrange since it was already pretty much done by the time I sat down to track.
Anyway, I really wish San Diego had some snow since it'd be a bit weird if Mt. Gagazet was rocky and green. This was the best I could do for April in Southern California at sundown. Hope you enjoy!
