With socially conscious lyrics, groovy melodies and funky beats, ‘You No Fit Touch Am’ would immediately make you want to at least nod your head or tap your foot, if not straight-up dance! From the very first track, the listener can immediately recognize all the influence of Dele Sosimi excellent musical pedigree, starting as a keyboardist in Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 band when he was just 16 and progressing as musical director and re-orchestrator for Positive Force in the mid-'80s.



Now, the music community was particularly excited after the announcement of ‘You No Fit Touch Am’ not only because it was to be Sosimi’s first solo record in more than a decade (with just 2 previous others in existence) but also because it was to be recorded and produced by legendary producer Nostalgia 77 (Tru Thoughts), on analog tape! And if the premises sound good wait to hear the actual record!



It has all the flavors of classic Afrobeat: intricate rhythmic progressions and groovy basslines are accompanied by horn-rich ensembles and funky guitar riffs that duels with Dele Sosimi and the back vocalists’ chants in a call and response worthy of the most epic musical face-offs.
