The name of the album comes from a sign painted underneath the I-70 highway by the Colorado Department of Transportation here in Denver. The wording of this sign and its intention in marking the boundary of a \"future park\" seemed to perfectly embody the abstract place I felt the songs were invoking. These songs were written in the wake of the shutdown of almost every single DIY venue in this state and many more across the country. I was very focused on loss and the role cynicism played in the 2k16 election. The role it has played in my life.
Track 7, on the B side of the cassette we are releasing, is something 4Digit mixed together from leftover instrumentals he created during his last couple months in Denver. He has moved and it feels even more fitting that the location of the EOFP sign is in the neighborhood where we recorded this album and where we first began playing DIY shows and meeting amazing artists here many of whom I now consider my best friends.
