Lost Salt Blood Purges is the solo passion project of multi-instrumentalist Michael Snoxall, who creates haunting, dark melodic soundscapes with the disparity between melody and dissonance being a key compositional component, accented by tape noise and other audio distortion of varying degrees, which almost makes the music itself seem as if it's carrying across a different plain of reality that's attempting to crack the barrier between worlds and enter ours via some kind of ancient tribal ritual. In fact, \"ritualistic\" becomes a very helpful descriptor as the album goes on, as samples of chanting and other distant voices can be heard echoing in some of the darkest moments of the album, lending even further to the very occult overall vibe. This is definitely a listen for those who like a mysterious and left-field experience. It's a long walk through incredibly haunted woods that, for some reason, almost feels warm and comforting once you adjust to it.
