The Missourians play \"Ozark Mountain Blues\", one of the band's finest sides. Named after the Ozark range of forested highlands that cover most of the southern half of Missouri (and extending in total across five states), the number isn't a blues at all but a stomping revision of Jesse Stone And His Blues Serenaders' \"Boot To Boot\", which is itself a reworking of \"Tiger Rag\"! Solos by R. Q. Dickerson, George Scott (on alto), De Priest Wheeler, Lammar Wright and Andrew Brown (on tenor). Dickerson is up first as soloist and in his excitement he obviously moves his arms, and trumpet, around - and as his horn pans across the microphone its dynamics are clearly heard to change.
