1952...I have an interview with Freddie that he did for me...telling how Jack Rhodes would drop by when Freddie was working on the Oil Rigs and ask him to come over to Mineola and write songs with him... ..he talks about the Spraberry Field, Spraberry Oil Field, and Spraberry Formation; sometimes erroneously written as Sprayberry) is a large oil field in the Permian Basin of West Texas,..and there was a guy who sold burgers, coffee etc..and he also had something special to make the boys 'feel good'..this being Hadacol..Freddie said the place got to be known as 'Hadacol Corners'...Slim Willet used to drop by and Freddie says that's where Slim got the idea for his 'Hadacol Corners' 4 Star side..of course, the other side became the monster hit..'Don't Let The Stars'(Get In Your Eyes')
