Classic music hall of 1907, recorded late that year & released Mar 1908. Florrie Forde was a star of enduring popularity, who recorded prolifically, re recording some of her hits in the 1930's. A romantic song, but it must have targeted audiences who'd never seen a Lancashire mill town, for the reality was far from idyllic, with the harsh working conditions & grime from the factory chimneys!
