Nate Millyunz' first full length album The Distress Kit is a debut demonstration of his artistic development and emotional depth. Right from the appropriately named Crazy Bastard Intro Millyunz eradicates all previously held conceptions regarding his skill as an emcee. This intro is a glimpse into the intense artistic development Nate has undergone since his W.T.F.I.M.R.D mixtape and prepares listeners for the best work he has recorded to date.
The famous Hunter S. Thompson inspired Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas sample kicks off the expertly crafted album, taking technique, tenacity and influence and transforming them into a drug-rife, rap-roller coaster of emotion. This sample also introduces a main theme of the album, an individual's personal war between creativity, narcotics and lucidity. Thrown into the mix are Nate's views concerning family, fame and friendship. Nate's musical depth reaches a new level of sincerity that imbues the album with all the authenticity necessary for a great debut.
Nate's lyrics and flows have evolved into true virtuosity that will undoubtedly launch him into the next level of the rap game. Watch out for Nate's remarkably potent Psilocybin Asylum, with its epic production, and lyrically intricate punch-line ridden rapping, it will do serious damage to your repeat button.
In addition to demonstrating a heavy influence from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Nate's Distress Kit also contains aspects that derive from Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP. The album contains some incredibly agile rhyming that coupled with Millyunz vicious vernacular would be easily utterable by the Rap God himself. Lines rife with an alliterated internal rhyming structure easily reveal Nate's potency, a potency that spans the whole album, cumulating in the Crazy Bastard Outro where Millyunz expertly spits: \"I'll Shove a sword t'words the sorcerer just to steal his stones/ And slide a shiv between his skin and skeleton just to steal his bones\".
