Of the British dance bands that recorded for Vocalion between 1925-27, I've found the recordings by pianist Billy Meryl to be by far the most elusive. As a bandleader, he recorded for Vocalion from May 1926 to April 1927.
Vocalion seemed to like featuring visiting American artists. some Teddy Brown sides feature Chick Endor. This particular recording features a vocal chorus by visiting American, Buddy Lee. I have a Columbia record on which he is the solo singer with the Gilt Edged Four. He sounds like he's been taking singing lessons from Irving Kaufman.
Hoping you enjoy this British dance band rarity.
Recorded October -November 1926.
