One of the best Swedish orchestras back in the thirties was Arne Hülphers and his orchestra. Mainly Hülphers played jazzy dance music, but the remainings at record are mostly a lot of poular music.
Here is the Swedish version of The Big bad wolf is dead. In fact right now, actual for Swedish viewers, since the first hunting of wolfs in decades took it's place some weeks ago. Over twenty thousand hunters was registered to shoot around 40 poor wolfs. The hunt was over in just a couple of hours and The big bad wolf was dead
Singer is Artur Rolén (1894-1972) actor and singer, normally Rolén was singing more traditional Swedish music like hambo, vals and so on. But here we can hear him in this superb foxtrot. Mostly known for later generations, in Sweden, is his participation in the Åsa-Nisse movies
(a sort of affable popular movies without great artistry) but it is a bit unjust to remember Rolén only in that way. He was a good actor and comedian with a long career; He made his first movie already back in 1916. Personally I think his best time was back in the thirties, working with other great Swedish comedians as for example Thor Modéen and others.
