One of Australia's most unpredictable and original bands that tore up the music scene during the early 90's. Heralded by many as way before their time Despised blended thrash, funk, jazz, punk, death metal creating a whirlwind of destruction that left most audiences stunned! Damien Evans precise and intense drumming intertwined with the outrageous funk/ metal rhythm bass of Sophie Mac held together the chaos. Layers of cool guitar from the smoothness of lead guitarist Cruze added depth with brutal distortion and wave surfing funk. All topped off by the bizarre vocals and antics of transgender singer Jade Starr and you have a debut album that is beyond description. Sadly Despised disbanded shortly after this album was finished and was never released. Hopefully it will see the light of day in the very near future. Surprisingly 22 years later Despised's distinct sound is possibly even more relevant than when it was recorded.....
