Akio Sasajima's final Muse CD is one of the greatest tests of guitar players, a guitar/bass duo date that proves he is playing up to previous praise.
It's hard to go wrong with a choice like Ron Carter for your musical partner, but Sasajima shows he has the ears as well as the technique required, providing fills and comping behind Carter, as well as shining in the solo spotlight.
A masterful \"Darn That Dream\" opens things with a flourish, followed by a sensitive \"I Fall in Love Too Easily\" and a spunky \"God Bless the Child.\"
The guitarist also wrote two originals, the catchy \"Waltz for Brazil\" and \"Akiology,\" an inventive blues.
