Ray Stevens - Camp Werthahekahwee

Playing Next: Courage to Grow
Random Page  /  Random Song

\"Camp Werthahekahwee\" is from the album \"Surely You Joust\" and it was Ray Stevens' twenty-third studio album and his third for MCA Records. The album's front cover shows Stevens disguised as a medieval knight with a horse standing next to him. The album's back cover shows Stevens in the same costume but in a junk pile with two junk men.

The song deals with summer camp and the eerie and bizarre surroundings a father alerts his son to prior to camp. The concept of the song deals with the inability of the natives to find their way home, so the natives set up their homes in the middle of nowhere after getting lost. The name of the camp, of course, is pronounced \"where the heck are we?\" and it was started by an Indian chief whose name also escapes the father.

I will be posting more of original Ray Stevens songs, so subcribe to keep up to date.
