"Making their second studio album, Before We Disappear, IWKC expanded to a twelve-piece chamber ensemble. Most of the compositions on this all instrumental conceptual opus have several-part arrangements in an apparently symphonic pattern. The themes are well developed, and music flows delicately, building from charmingly quiet segments to dynamically loaded climaxes and back again. The haunting melodies and aching dissonances between guitars, keyboards, and a string section serve to emphasize the confusion encountered in the wordless tales about love, adventure, and frustrationโฆ or to offer hope for a better final.
