Fritz Kreisler was an Austrian-American who was a very talented and highly acclaimed Violinist of the 1900s through late 1930s. He did Classical music solely. His style --if you know it-- is instantly recognizable for nearly every song he did. All around two minute, relaxing and soft violin solos, sometimes accompanied with light background piano. He only ever had one group of his own,The Kreisler String Quartet. Mostly because he would do everything else himself.

As for his recording career, he was always a Victor recording artist, always in someway or another part of the Victor label, but on various sub labels of Victor. He started on regular Victor back in 1904. He would record a few records for them on there before they would put him on Victrola in 1908 where he would most of the time record there. Around 1914 he would be put back to the main Victor label, where he would stay for 5 years before returning mainly back to Victrola in 1919. He would stay there predominantly into the 1920s. When the Electrical recording Era came about, his Victrola releases would be transferred over to His Master's Voice starting in 1926 for the rest of the 1920s until 1930. In 1930 he would take a nearly 8 year break from recording. When he would return in 1938, he would be placed on the Victor Red Seal. He would from there only ever record a few more records until 1939 when he retired. From there, nearly everything else released by him was just re-releases. Some songs were re-released on V-Disc, Polydor, Ленинградский Завод, (Communist for Odeon), and more after his 1950 death into the 60s.

He had a respectable amount of hits during his career, most of which being minor, but hits nonetheless. Those included Beautiful Ohio in 1919, Poor Butterfly in 1917, A Kiss In The Dark in 1924, Gavotte In E Minor in 1910, That Old Refrain in 1916, Humoresque in 1912, Liebesleid in 1913, Gypsy Serenade in 1920, Old Vienna Waltz in 1911 among a few others.

The B Side is called Polichinelle Serenade which you can listen to here: https://youtu.be/n4KUE3JEfSc
