A meeting of Chicago's sweet Holly Maxwell and the core of Philadelphia's best Soul Music makers. From 1969, this track has that unmistakable Philly Sound. Recorded with what would become the MFSB aggregation, Holly gives us a real treat of a record. How this cut, and it's A side, 'Never Love Again' slipped thru the cracks amazes the Pookster. This one on the obscure Smit - Whit label is a fave for sure. This track has a great Bobby Martin arrangement, and help from the likes of Norman Harris, Bobby Eli, and Ronnie Baker. Enough said? Holly is still on the music scene in Chi-Town, and can be found giving us all the lowdown on the happenings in the Windy City from her page on Facebook. Visit her: Holle Thee Maxwell. One of the real Soul Survivors of the 60's, Holly always made great records, though they were too few. Love her.
