This video is part of a music vlogger and busking stories series.
I drove in from Northern Oklahoma, stopped at the Evel Knievel museum in Topeka Kansas along the way. Two popular spots to street perform in Kansas City are the Country Club Plaza and Westport. I talked to a busker at the Country Club and he said that they don't permit anymore and that he came here because Las Vegas made it more difficult for busking. That is the impact of these laws on these people. The guy who I saw playing at Westport was way too good that I didn't even bother getting my gear out.
I learned a lot about Evel Knievel at the museum. He used to book events using a different name so it looked like he had a promoter/agent, then when he wanted venues to get interested in him he would call as other people asking questions about the event. He was really good at generating hype, so if he found that his event wasn't sold out he would go on a tour around the area talking to people trying to get them interested.
