High School U.S.A. (Royster-Leader) by Tommy Facenda

Memorable novelty by former Gene Vincent Blue Caps member Facenda, recorded originally for Legrand Records as a salute to schools located solely in the state of Virginia. Atlantic picked up the song and had Facenda voice-track an additional 27 regional lyrics plus the “national” version posted here. Whichever one of the variations may have been heard on your favorite radio station and sold at your local record store depended upon where you were living at the time.
