\"A Cottage for Sale\" was a very populair song composed by Willard Robison with lyrics written by Larry Conley. It was first published in 1929, and over 100 performers have recorded it. Lou Gold (1885 - 1950) and his Band became immensely popular in New York City in the late-1910s, and from the mid 1920s through the 1930s, even more succesful through his many recordings, using several pseudonyms for different labels. Mariette Serlé (1910 -1996) was a Dutch singer with a very recognizable and memorable voice. At her time she was very much loved in Holland for her style of singing and her beautiful pronunciation of the Dutch and English language.
