1929 Paul Whiteman - Waiting At The End Of The Road (Bing Crosby, vocal)

Bing & Bix….together for the last time. Here’s yet one more YouTube post (from a 78 transfer) of this well-known Whiteman track. The Irving Berlin song was featured in King Vidor’s 1929 MGM film “Hallelujah” and was the first of three songs that came from this Whiteman session. Beiderbecke did the 8-bar cornet solo toward the end of the track but soon-after had to leave due to illness. Andy Secrest played cornet on the release versions of the remaining two September 13th titles.

Transferred from 78rpm Columbia 1974-D - Waiting At The End Of The Road (Berlin) by Paul Whiteman & his Orchestra, vocal by Bing Crosby, arranged by Ferde Grofe, recorded in NYC September 13, 1929
