Eternal Winters is a stellar track showing how Toby Knapp evolved from riff-intensive shredder to mastermind behind Onward. You can hear how Toby blends his love for 2nd Generation Black Metal with his thrash riffing melodies. In fact, you can hear Onward looming in many areas figuratively if you soften the distortion and polish the sound. Onward is literally here in the form of a very short riff later used in Witches Winter Eternal from their debut album, and the end riff later can be heard on Who Saw the Last Star Fall from the \"Re-Awaken\" album.
