Three unknown singers with Cliff Weston and Joe Haymes' orchestra.
Most likely this trio was formed by some of Haymes' band musicians, because they don't seem to have recorded with anybody else. For a short time, Haymes led one of the country's best swing and dance bands. However, although he was a good musician, he was not succesful as a businessman. After the Dorsey Brothers went their separate ways in 1936, Tommy Dorsey went to see the Haymes band, liked what he heard, and simply bought the whole orchestra except for two musicians who refused to abandon Haymes. This was the end of the Headliners, it seems. It was not the only time Haymes let this happen to him, by the way. The band he assembled after the Dorsey takeover was bought up by Les Brown in 1938 ...
