This short-lived outfit might be called the big band among the American vocal groups. They started in 1937, when female singer Geraldine Harris left her group \"The Four Blackbirds\", and the remaining trio decided to join forces with the \"Five Jones Boys\" (yep - not a single Jones among them). They recorded only a few titles, and all of them are quite rare, but great fun. Obviously it was difficult to find reasonably paid jobs for such a large outfit, and after only two years the group was reduced to a quartet that recorded as \"The Four Toppers\", later also known as the \"5 Red Caps\".
