Wade Jackson is best known as the author of one of the most beloved and covered country music songs, \"Don't Be Angry.\" It was a Top Ten Billboard hit for both his brother Stonewall Jackson and Donna Fargo, although it is merely one of a thousand or more songs he estimates he has written. Wade joined the Army when he was 17 and spent the next 20 years both on the frontlines and fronting country music bands. Upon retiring from the Air Force in 1966, he moved to Nashville, received a BMI songwriters award, joined the musician's union, recorded four sides for Starday Records, and secured an opening spot on the traveling Grand Ole Opry road shows. He was inducted into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame in Iowa in 2016.
