Hooker Family Legends Music Series. Another family group of descendants of John & Mandy Hooker.

The Hyltons are the children of Dewey Hylton & Margie Mae Hooker-Hylton Peters who was daughter of John & Mandy Hooker.

The Hyltons are from Floyd county Virginia and have been playing and singing together as a family group consistently since the early 70's. They started out as a bluegrass gospel band, evolved into southern & country gospel and now have morphed back into bluegrass. The core members since their inception are brothers Tommy, Harry & sister Sylvia. The original Hyltons line up was Tommy, Harry, Sylvia with brothers John & Alfred and their brother Clinton's daughters Ann & Ruth.

Over the years The Hyltons members have included brother Eugene, David son of Alfred, Darrell & Julie the son & daughter of Tommy.

Other members have included their long time bus driver, brother Clinton, lead singer of several years Marie King, drummer Jeff Burnette, Dan & Sam Bolt and cousins Junior Hooker, Ricky Boyd, Jerry & Audrey Howell. They've made so many records that nobody really knows the exact amount. The Hyltons have been faithful in music ministry for over 40 years now. They're one of the busiest weekend bands you'll ever meet as they stay booked sometimes a year or more in advance.
