Mare Vetus [lat. \"old sea\"] explores the unknown depths of the ocean. Following the footsteps of H.P. Lovecraft and the grotesque, the band creates an oppressive sound collage on their debut album in the contrast between violent metal and atmospheric-meditative ambient passages. A thundering storm of hopelessness that can only promise peace through occasional glimpses into the dark depths of silence below.
