Bay View High School Choir - Noel (1970s) Full Album
Extremely rare Christmas choir album from Bay View High School, located in Milwaukee, WI. I'm assuming this was only given out to students, faculty, and family, as this is hard to find on the Internet. I only know about this because my cousin once sent me crates of vinyl, and this was included. There is no year given on this LP, but I'm guessing it came from the '70s, looking at the hair and overall style of the students and staff (seen in the inner sleeve, displayed in the second half of the video.) Though if I did have to guess a specific year, I'd go with late 1977 or late 1978, as the gatefold mentions that the choir performed on Easter Monday, 1977, and I'm assuming this was recorded around Christmas time.
This LP contains quite possibly the best version of \"O Holy Night\" that I have ever heard. The fact that the vocalist (who, according to the gatefold, was a student, Jean Asman) can hold her own in a grand song like that amazes me. I sure hope she went on to pursue some kind of future in music because she has a powerful voice.
