In October 2017, Tales From The First Light has been released, being the result of many months spent in the rehearsal room and composing continuously and thoroughly. This album was recorded side by side with Txesko Bobillo and Xavi Farré at the end of summer 2016, embraced by the warmth of their sanctuary, Phonorec Studios (Lleida). Mixing was done by Luís Díaz and Nacho Físac (La Vall Studio, Barcelona), and Harold Grunberg (Satanic Audio, Germany) was in charge of the mastering.
Onyric Joy´s debut album is a full-length (50 minutes) which takes part inside of each soul, further than any rational or chaotic thought. It is a trip that starts remembering the worst episodes of a life, missing past relationships, then entering in the watery world of confronted feelings and finally ending in a mess of doubts. Five songs full of ambient textures, distorted riffs and instrumental passages compose a complete work in a digipack format.
Onyric Joy originated in Barcelona during the autumn 2015 due to the reencounter between Edu Rodríguez (dums and vocals) and Víctor Navarro (bass and lead vocals). After talking about a project that mixed psychedelic rock, progressive rock and post rock they decided to find a third member. Gerard Marrugat (guitar and vocals) completed the band and once the compositions were done they recorded which would be their first album, Tales From The First Light. Eventually, the 27th of October a physical edition is published under MMMMusic label, thanks to David Mullor, the person in charge.
Soon after they played at small festivals (Totúm Revolútum 4.0 and Fiestoner vol.3) as well as performing the first part for Glowsun. In June 2019, Alvar de la Viuda joins the band, replacing Gerard as lead guitarist and the power trio takes on a new step, full of hope and messages to share. In October 2019 the band begins to work with the team TOTEM Promotion.
