Acoustic Americana, country/folk, singer-songwriter originals. I finished recording this album in 2016. Well, I thought I finished it. After spending almost two years with it, there were a few things I wanted to tweak. Additionally my good friend and former USAF C-130 co-worker, Scott Duncan, wanted to master the entire project. So we did both. And now it really is done. Thank you Scott for all your help on this one!
I wanted to have one last album that I could be proud of, and could use as a presentation of my best work, both in songwriting and performance. It contains my 6 latest, and previously unreleased songs (written between 2005-2008) plus 8 recent re-recordings of some of my best original songs from 1986-2002.
I wrote, played and recorded everything here to the best of my ability. As for the album title, 'Bed Yam' (a close relative of the couch potato) it was a nick-name given to me by my friends when I was stationed in the Philippines with the USAF because of how much I could sleep (12 - 16 hours!) :)
I am The Bed Yam, and I hope you enjoy my tales.
I recorded this entire album (at my home in Livermore and my old studio in Pleasanton) on a 16 track digital recorder (Fostex VF160) thru an AKG 414. Processed via N-Tracks software on my trusty old pc, GUS.
The album cover is a picture I took in 3rd grade, around 1977/78, on a field trip to the Sierra Nevada's in Wilseyville, Ca - Camp Lodestar.
