The Happy Reindeer (Rustigian-Plaisted) by Dancer, Prancer and Nervous (The Singing Reindeer)

These ‘Chipmunk wannabees’ galloped onto the December ’59 weekly top 40 charts. The “are you nervous?…nope!” line was in reference to a catch-phrase by Don Knotts’ ‘man in the street’ character from Steve Allen’s popular television show.

THE 1959 HITS ARCHIVE - here in one place, a good-quality library of original-release-version best-sellers and songs that made an impact that were either released or enjoyed a major chunk of their popularity within the calendar year 1959 (some were recorded in 1958).
