Chris Rea \"The Blue Cafe\" 1997, Rare German 4-track Maxi CD Single, including Shimanski And Mandel Theme & Nicolette - unreleased in UK.

The Blue Cafe\" was written in 1997 for a movie episode of the German TV criminal serial (\"Blutsbrueder\") \"The Schimanski\" (the name of a detective.)

There was, at that time, a four-track single published as well with \"The Blue Cafe\", radio edit (3:58), \"Schimanski and Mandel theme\" (2:32), \"Nicolette\" (1:33) and \"The Ble Cafe\" album version (4:33.)

The \"Schimanski\" was the name of the TV serial (just like \"Colombo\", in the US in the 70s) and the \"Bluetsbrueder\" (blood brother) was the title of an episode for which Chris Rea wrote the music as well as played in it!

This episode was first aired in November 1997.
But it's a regular 90-minute movie, therefore it can be seen as a feature film.

It was filmed in Belgium, by the way.... The main character - Horst Schimanski, Kriminalhaupkomissar, was played by a well-known German actor - Goetz George.

GΓΆtz George was best known as the gruff and abrasive police detective Schimanski.
With Schimanski, he created an entirely new kind of hero in the crime genre.

The parka that Schimanski wore all the time has since found a place of honor in Berlin's Museum of Film and Television, where the detective's passport and fan mail sent to \"GΓΆtz Schimanski\" can also be viewed.

This video has been published with absolute respect and admiration to Chris Rea's music !
