Ili were a very interesting Russian-speaking Georgian band that operated in 1983-1993. Taking cues and inspiration from the flourishing Leningrad underground scene of that time, their 4 albums present a melancholic and dreamy, slightly psychedelic art-punk. Led by Vitalii Bunin, they concentrated on studio work (if you can call home-stored basic equipment a studio), sending their work on magnetic tapes to Leningrad and very rarely performed live, so they were much less known in Tbilisi.
