Black Psyche was recorded shortly after a girl named Christa entered a mental institution. The whole ordeal sort of haunted me, and I began to question the energy we were tapping into. This was the third person i felt entered a psyche ward because of me. I realize now that is probably not the case but at the time it felt like I was slowly driving people mad. A relationship I had had with a girl in '98 ended with her in a hospital. A friend of ours by the name of Chris Carter had a breakdown, and I believe he thought we were somewhat responsible. Both of these episodes kind of freaked me out, but I was away when they both happened. With Crista I was there when it all went down. In fact she blamed Mike and I directly. The time proceeding her ordeal was rather strange. Eddy, Scott Nobody and I were taking a lot dexamethaphan in pill form. It was my favorite drug at the time, it made music absolutely alive. The stuff seemed to bring dreams into reality, and when you do it often, the world sort of remains unconscious. I had heard later DXM is actually part of the PCP family, that makes sense because although everything was dreamlike, it wasn't nessecarily a good dream, in fact most of the time it felt like I was riding on the edge of a nightmare. I believe the people around us could feel our state of spookiness. Crista was a very sensitive girl. She had just moved to Denver and she truly didn't know any of us, but always hung out at Monkey Mania. She was young and came from an extremely religious background, and was probably doing more drugs (none of it being DXM) than her religiously imprinted mind could take. Her breakdown was spooky, it had a sort of witchy twist to it. I was hanging around the living room when she stared at me point blank and said stuff like, \"I know what you are!\" and \"You can't hide from me, I'm on to you!\" and \"I know what you did!\" I didn't have a clue what she was talking about and told her so. She went into a fit of rage screaming obsenities about how I was evil, Satan and secretly giving her Dexamethaphran. She was so positive that I gave her this stuff that I began to wonder if I actually did or not. I was in such daze from the stuff that I couldn't completely remember, although I was 99.9 percent sure I didn't slip her any. Her screaming became so violent I told her to leave and come back later. She pretty much went directly to the mental hospital after her roommate experienced her rage. I was sure I was going to go to jail when she blamed me for slipping her drugs. The entire ordeal was kind of haunting and sad. Black Psyche was recorded in effort to try to capture the energy we were tapping into at this time. It is intended to provoke a bad trip, and is filled with bad vibrations. Enjoy my friend.
