Born Otha Ellas Bates 'Bo Diddley' was one of musics great pioneers and his title of 'The Originator' is richly deserved. Bo on guitar, Otis Spann on piano, Lester Davenport on harp, Frank Kirkland on drums and Jerome Green on maracas this all time classic was released in March 1955. Always loved the story of when Bo and the boys went on the Ed Sullivan show in November 1955 and were expected to perform the Tennesse Ernie Ford hit '16 Tons' but when they went on they sung this record instead and were never asked back !
