1962 HITS ARCHIVE: Flying Circle (Hava Nagila) - Frank Slay
Flying Circle (Slay) by Frank Slay & his Orchestra
Bright instrumental treatment of the familiar Israeli folk song. Composer and record producer Slay created many of Freddy Cannon’s recordings and also co-wrote (with Bob Crewe) such song hits as “Silhouettes,” “Tallahassee Lassie,” and “La Dee Dah.” Another successful variation on “Hava Nagila” was the 1958 Betty Madigan hit “Dance Everyone Dance” (listen here: https://youtu.be/DLSwXgmm8-w )
