From I'M THE LEAST IN THE KINGDOM, a vintage vinyl LP recording featuring mark Lowry, 1969 on HeartWarming/Impact Records, a division of Benson Music.
The was Mark's debut project professionally & commercially. He had at least one recording previously to this one entitled HE TOUCHED ME. The latter LP was independently released, with only a small circulation.
Other recordings would follow as he later would graduate from Liberty University. A tragic van accident while traveling with a Ministry Team from Liberty nearly cut his aspiring ministry and career short if not for God's Provincial Hand both during and after the accident.
The music of Bill Gaither has def played a part throughout Mark Lowry's early years in ministry, not only using HE TOUCHED MR AS HIS 'TESTIMONY SONG' as a mere pre-teen to his writing the lyrics to his only Number One Song, MARY, DID YOU KNOW?, while eventually collaborating with Gaither Studios' session instrumentalist and later Gaither Tour Mate, Buddy Green, as Green would compose the music to match perfectly with Lowry's lyrics.
For about a decade, Mark Lowry was a member of The Gaither Vocal Band, and even to this day, he appears with Gaither and his Homecoming Friends from time to time.
