\"Amazing Grace\" is a Christian hymn published in 1779, with words written in 1772 by the English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton (17251807).

Newton wrote the words from personal experience. He grew up without any particular religious conviction, but his life's path was formed by a variety of twists and coincidences that were often put into motion by others' reactions to what they took as his recalcitrant insubordination.

With the message that forgiveness and redemption are possible regardless of sins committed and that the soul can be delivered from despair through the mercy of God, \"Amazing Grace\" is one of the most recognizable songs in the English-speaking world.

Greg Holt of the \"Fiddler & The Crossroads\" was inducted into the international Blues Hall of Fame in 2016. He's the violinist for the NHL Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Team, and is a multi-instrumentalist (fiddle, mandolin, keys, b3 organ, steel, banjo, vocals).

Holt has been a member of these bands: Mel McDaniel, David Ball, LoCash Cowboys, Boxcar Hollow, The New Creatures, Mad Dog and the Smokin' J's, Billy McKnight and the Soul Circus Cowboys, Riders of the Easy Posse, Stephen Cochran, Walker Hornung and the Brotherhood of the Grape, The Kings Heartbeat.

Amazing Grace was recorded in the NYC subway on January 20, 2020.
